HVAC Service Technician

Job Title: Senior HVAC Service Technician (Commercial/Industrial)Position OverviewWe are seeking a highly skilled Senior HVAC Service Technician with 5–10+ years of experience in the commercial and industrial sector. This role is responsible for diagnosing, servicing, and maintaining complex HVAC systems, including large-tonnage equipment and advanced control systems. The ideal candidate is a strong troubleshooter with deep technical knowledge and the ability to work independently in demanding environments.Key ResponsibilitiesPerform service, maintenance, and repair on commercial and industrial HVAC systems Diagnose and troubleshoot complex mechanical, electrical, and control issues Service and maintain: Chillers (air-cooled and water-cooled) Hydronic systems (boilers, pumps, piping, etc.) Large tonnage systems Air Handling Units (AHUs) Packaged rooftop units (RTUs) and large-scale equipment Interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings Work with and troubleshoot building automation systems (BAS) and control systems Perform system startups, commissioning, and performance testing Provide detailed service reports and documentation Communicate effectively with customers, project managers, and internal teams Maintain compliance with safety standards and company procedures Qualifications5–10+ years of HVAC service experience in commercial/industrial environments Strong working knowledge of: Chillers and hydronic systems Large tonnage HVAC equipment AHUs and packaged systems Electrical systems and diagnostics VRF SystemsProven advanced troubleshooting skills Experience with control systems / BAS (e.g., Distech, Johnson Controls, Siemens, Trane, Honeywell, etc.) Ability to read and interpret wiring diagrams and mechanical plans EPA Certification (required) Valid driver’s license with clean driving record Preferred QualificationsFactory training or certifications (Multistack, Quantech, Trane, Carrier, York, etc.) Experience with VFDs, sensors, actuators, and control wiring Strong understanding of energy-efficient systems and optimization OSHA certification or safety training Skills & CompetenciesHigh-level problem-solving and analytical thinking Strong attention to detail Ability to work independently with minimal supervision Excellent communication and customer service skills Leadership or mentoring experience is a plus Travel is required up to 30%Compensation & BenefitsCompetitive pay based on experience Company vehicle , phone, laptop, iPadHealth, dental, and vision insurance Retirement plan (401k, etc.) Paid time off and holidays Ongoing training and career advancement opportunities
