We support clients across public sector, utilities, financial services, and Fortune organizations, often partnering with leading system integrators.Job Title:Network Security EngineerLocation:New York, NY (2 Manhattan Locations)Work Environment:100% onsite (no remote or hybrid options available)Duration:Through December 31, 2026, with strong likelihood of extension for an additional 12 monthsKey ResponsibilitiesDesign, configure, and support secure network infrastructure, including switches, routers, and firewallsImplement and manage network segmentation and isolation strategies to enhance security postureSupport Authentication, Authorization, and Accounting (AAA) frameworks and related technologies (e.g., TACACS)Monitor and analyze network traffic using security and monitoring tools, identifying potential threats and vulnerabilitiesPerform packet capture (PCAP) analysis to investigate network anomalies and security incidentsConfigure and manage network devices across platforms including Cisco, Juniper, and Palo AltoSupport and maintain network taps and related visibility toolsWork closely with cross-functional teams to ensure network security aligns with enterprise standards and compliance requirementsTroubleshoot and resolve network and security-related issues in a timely mannerDocument network configurations, security controls, and operational proceduresRequired Qualifications (Mandatory)Minimum 5 years of experience in network engineering and/or network securityStrong hands-on experience with:Authentication, Authorization, and Accounting (AAA)TACACSNetwork segmentation and isolationSwitching and routing protocols (Static, BGP, OSPF)Experience configuring and designing:Switches, routers, and firewalls (Cisco, Juniper, Palo Alto)Proficiency in network security and monitoring toolsExperience performing PCAP analysis and troubleshooting network trafficStrong understanding of network architecture, protocols, and security best practicesAbility to work onsite in New York, NYPreferred QualificationsExperience with network automation tools and frameworksExposure to Network IDS in OT (Operational Technology) environmentsExperience with Cisco Secure Network Analytics (StealthWatch)Familiarity with Cisco ClientScripting experience (Python or other languages)Relevant certifications such as:CCNACCNPCCIEIdeal Candidate ProfileHands-on network security engineer with strong troubleshooting and analytical skillsComfortable working in a high-security, highly regulated environmentStrong attention to detail with the ability to identify and mitigate risks proactivelyEffective communicator who can collaborate across technical teamsSelf-driven and able to operate independently while contributing to team successWhy Join UsThis is an opportunity to support a critical network security initiative within a major public-sector organization.
