Volunteer Engagement VISTA

Volunteer Engagement VISTACanopy NWA is seeking a motivated AmeriCorps VISTA member to help empower refugees in Northwest Arkansas by strengthening and expanding volunteer systems that support access to critical services. This role focuses on building sustainable infrastructure for volunteer recruitment, training, coordination, and partnership development to increase long-term organizational capacity and community impact. Volunteers play a vital role in supporting programs such as transportation, childcare, and youth programming. The Volunteer Services VISTA will work closely with program staff to assess current volunteer systems, identify service gaps, and design strategies to expand volunteer involvement in ways that enhance client stability and well-being. Key responsibilities include developing and implementing volunteer recruitment plans, strengthening partnerships with community organizations, improving onboarding and training processes, and supporting the creation of new volunteer opportunities. The VISTA will also help maintain volunteer management systems, track engagement data, and refine training materials to improve efficiency, consistency, and volunteer retention. In addition, the VISTA will assist with outreach and community events to promote volunteer engagement, build public awareness, and expand partnerships. Through this work, the VISTA will help create sustainable systems that increase service capacity, reduce barriers to support, and promote long-term pathways to economic stability for refugee families. They will also help maintain volunteer management systems, track engagement data, and build partnerships with community organizations to expand capacity.
