Student Researcher - Part Time

Assist faculty member with descriptive, exploratory, or experimental research as well as publication actives, data collection, data management and/or data analysisParticipate in research projects at Ivy Tech, IUN, or bothParticipate in weekly (Virtual via Zoom and on-campus) meetings, ethics training, and readings: discuss scientific literature and basic laboratory tasksPrepare, manipulate, and manage extensive databasesFacilitate gathering of materials and data for various projects, reports, manuscripts, and presentationsObtain informed consent from research subjectsPerform qualitative analysis and/or quantitative analyses of data using computer software as applicableVerify the accuracy and validity of data entered in databases including correcting any errorsPrepare tables, graphs, fact sheets, and written reports summarizing research resultsEdit and submit protocols and other required research documentationDevelop and implement research quality control proceduresResearch topical areas as requested including the completion of comprehensive literature and web searchesThe above list of duties is not an exhaustive list. Other duties logically associated with the position may be assigned.A current Ivy Tech STEM student majoring in either biology, chemistry, psychology, or School of Information Technology programs who has completed some courses in their major and is familiar with Ivy Tech Lake County CampusPREFERED QUALIFICATIONS:Knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures and systems such as word processing, managing files and records, designing forms and other office proceduresSpecific knowledge may be required depending upon the project for which you will be conducting researchIvy Tech Community College is an accredited, equal opportunity/affirmative action employer.
