Associate Designer- Young Contemporary

Title- Associate Sportswear Designer- Junior Contemporary – Cut Sew Knits, and WovensLocation: New York, NY-Salary $65,000- + Our client, a well-established Junior Contemporary Brand is searching for an Associate Designer or Assistant designer for immediate hire. Must have a young aesthetic designing woven’s, and knitwear. Assist with developing new product line assortments by collaborating with the cross-functional team. Strong CAD and tech pack experience. There is tremendous opportunity to grow into a design position.Responsibilities:Support the placement strategy and follow-up by recommending product placementParticipate in design strategies and execution for sportswear including knits, and wovensCreate detailed tech packs in illustratorWork with the design team and management to develop time and action calendars for programsWork with team sourcing new fabrications for developmentPrepare trend boards for management meetingsManage product integrity and order specifications compliance.Qualifications2 plus years of experience in apparel production and developmentKnowledge and understanding of knit and wovens fabricsProficiency in Illustrator and PhotoshopPLM system is a plusProblem-solving abilities in meeting deadlines.Microsoft Office ProgramsBA Degree
