Position Overview
Artists Ink is seeking an experienced, organized, and community-centered Program Manager to oversee the implementation and day-to-day management of our arts education programming. This position plays a vital leadership role in ensuring programs are delivered with excellence, impact, and alignment to our mission and values.
The Program Manager serves as a bridge between staff, teaching artists, families, schools, and community partners while supporting program quality, staff development, budgeting, evaluation, and strategic growth.
Key Responsibilities
Design and Implement Arts-Based Programs
Collaborates with Program Director on implementing innovative multidisciplinary programs.
Ensures effective and clear delivery of programs and curriculum
In collaboration with the Program Director, Identifies and secures supply needs including research, procurement for training, programs, and events.
Manages and maintains program related budgets
Leads/supports exhibitions, performances, and showcases.
Manages program schedules and the overall yearly calendar (with Program Director).
Manages day-to-day programming.
Provides onboarding information to Program and Operations Directors (contracts, live-scans, TB tests, administrative requests).
Creative Leadership and Team Collaboration
Managing various programs and sites simultaneously
Manages a large staff of Program Coordinators and Mentors
Attends weekly administrative and program meetings
Leads weekly coordinator and mentor meetings
Conduct staff training for program readiness
Oversee staff invoices and timesheets.
Provide conflict resolution support for staff and leadership.
Ensure all staff submit timecards, time-off requests, substitute requests
Submit incident reports within 24 hours.
Mentor staff, interns, and volunteers to foster a collaborative culture.
Stay informed on trends in arts education, community development, and cultural equity.
Serve as a key Artists Ink administrative staff member
Community Engagement and Partnership Building
Sustain relationships with program partners, families and students to implement effective and impactful programming
Conducting site visits, coordinating partner meetings, conducting and retrieving survey evaluations.
Facilitates “Listening & Learning” forums with partners, families and students to ensure programming is inclusive and reflects community needs.
Serve as a lead representative of Artists Ink to partners, families and students to foster trust and collaboration.
Marketing & Outreach
Provides all programming descriptions and details to marketing in a timely manner
Provides any updates regarding program timelines, descriptions or staffing to Marketing Department
Attend Marketing meetings as necessary
Manages and communicates available staff hours for outreach
Program Evaluation and Reporting
Collaborate with the program director to set clear goals and metrics for program impact.
Responsible for conducting on-site evaluations, collecting data, media, and other materials from programs as well as feedback from partners, families and students for continuous improvement and measures of success
Provides Weekly reports to Admin
Provides evaluation reports, surveys and data to Program Director
Strategic Planning and Resource Development
Maintains program alignment with Artists Ink’s mission and long-term vision on the ground level.
Support a healthy lifecycle of programming, showcases, performances and in-school / in-house events.
Requirements
Experience managing educational, arts, youth development, or community programs.
Strong leadership and team management skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
Experience managing budgets and project resources.
Strong organizational and time management skills.
Proficiency with Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Forms, Calendar, Drive).
Ability to work independently while collaborating across departments.
Commitment to equity, community engagement, and arts access.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience working with youth and families.
Experience in arts education, nonprofit management, or community-based programming.
Basic knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite or similar creative software.
Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
Expected hours per week: 20 to 30 hours
