Interim Accounting Director

Interim Accounting Director (Contract)This is a contract opportunity (approximately 13 months) for an experienced accounting professional to step into a hands-on leadership role. The ideal candidate will support day-to-day accounting operations while providing guidance to the broader accounting team. This role is well-suited for someone with strong technical accounting knowledge who can quickly integrate into an existing environment and keep processes moving smoothly.
Key Responsibilities:Lead and support the monthly and quarterly close processes, ensuring accuracy and timeliness
Provide oversight and hands-on support across core accounting areas, including revenue, cost of sales, inventory, AR, reserves, and affiliate accounting
Review journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting documentation for compliance with internal policies and accounting standards
Ensure all balance sheet reconciliations are completed, reviewed, and properly documented
Collaborate cross-functionally with FP&A, Tax, and other teams on financial reporting needs
Assist with external audit activities and serve as a key accounting point of contact during the audit period
Mentor and support accounting managers and staff as needed during the interim period
Qualifications:57+ years of progressive accounting experience, including leadership or supervisory exposure
Strong knowledge of IFRS and financial reporting requirements
Proven experience managing or supporting close cycles in a complex environment
Experience with large ERP systems; Oracle preferred
Advanced Excel skills
Ability to be both strategic and hands-on in a fast-moving setting
Strong communication skills and a collaborative leadership style
Additional Details:Contract duration estimated at 13 months
Hybrid work schedule (on-site TuesdayThursday)
Reporting directly to the VP of Accounting
