Factory Automation Engineer

About the Role:The Factory Automation Engineer at BlueOval SK Stanton, Tennessee will have a unique opportunity to be a key member of the start-up team, assisting with initial launch of new product lines and development of manufacturing processes.Key Areas of Responsibility:Automation System Design & IntegrationDevelop, configure, and optimize PLC, SCADA, HMI and MES/EAP automation systemsIntegrate automation equipment with IT/OT infrastructure and enterprise systemsDesign and document automation workflows, control logic, and systems interfacesImplementation & CommissioningInstall, test, and commission automation hardware/software at the plant levelProvide technical support during system go-live and post-deployment stabilizationEnsure preventative maintenance and lifecycle management of automation systemsTroubleshooting & SupportDiagnose and resolve system issues, equipment malfunctions, or integration failuresProvide on-call and emergency support as required, including off hoursCollaborate with key stakeholders to ensure system uptime and operational continuityProcess Optimization & ComplianceIdentify opportunities for automation improvements to reduce downtime and increase throughputEnsure systems comply with safety, quality, delivery and industry regulatory standardsCollaboration & DocumentationWork with management, users, and cross-functional teams to gather system requirementsMaintain accurate documentation of system configurations, test plans, and system changesProvide training and knowledge transfer to operators and engineering teamsMinimum Requirements:Education: Bachelor’s degreeExperience: 0 to 3 yrs. of related experienceAbility to support any shift in a 7-day work patternCandidate must be flexible to significant travel during initial plant start-up phaseSuccessful candidate must be able to demonstrate leadership behaviors consisting of outstanding interpersonal, teambuilding, continuous improvement and communication skillsBi-lingual in Korean and EnglishPreferred Requirements:Education: Bachelor’s degree in EngineeringExperience:Hands-on experience with PLC programming (Siemens, Allen-Bradley, Mitsubishi, or similar)Familiarity with MES/EAP, SCADA, HMI, and OPC-UA protocolsStrong knowledge of automation design, integration, and troubleshootingKnowledge of robotics, industrial networks (Ethernet/IP, Profinet), and sensor integrationVisual Factory ManagementWhat you’ll receive in return:As part of the BlueOval SK family, you’ll enjoy excellent compensation and a comprehensive benefits package that includes generous paid time off (PTO), retirement contributions, incentive compensation and much more.
