Job Overview:
We are seeking a talented and motivated Full Stack Java Developer to join our innovative software engineering team. In this role, you will design, develop, test, and maintain scalable, high-performance web applications and microservices that support mission-critical business operations. You will build robust back-end services, intuitive front-end applications, and secure RESTful APIs while leveraging modern cloud technologies and best practices.
As a key member of an Agile Scrum/SAFe team, you will collaborate with software engineers, business analysts, product owners, and stakeholders to deliver high-quality software solutions. Duties:
Design, develop, test, debug, deploy, and maintain high-quality software applications throughout the full Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
Develop scalable, secure, and maintainable full-stack applications using modern development frameworks and best practices.
Work independently with minimal supervision while effectively managing priorities and meeting project deadlines.
Collaborate with software developers, business analysts, product owners, QA engineers, and other cross-functional team members within Agile Scrum and SAFe environments.
Translate business and customer requirements into well-defined user stories and deliver working software at the end of each sprint.
Participate in sprint planning, backlog refinement, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, demonstrations, and retrospectives to support continuous improvement.
Mentor junior developers through technical guidance, code reviews, and knowledge sharing to strengthen team capabilities.
Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues, identify root causes, and implement effective, long-term solutions.
Communicate technical challenges, design options, risks, and recommended solutions clearly to project leadership, Prime contractors, and CBP stakeholders.
Collaborate with product teams to develop innovative solutions that improve system functionality, performance, security, and reliability while supporting CBP's mission objectives.
Follow secure coding standards, DevSecOps practices, and software engineering best practices to deliver high-quality, reliable applications.
Contribute to technical documentation, system design discussions, and architecture decisions to ensure maintainable and scalable solutions.
Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field with 12+ years of relevant experience, or a Master's degree with 10–13 years of relevant experience.
Must be a U.S. Citizen with the ability to obtain a CBP Background Investigation (BI) Public Trust Clearance.
Minimum 10 years of software development experience in an Agile and DevSecOps environment with a proven track record of delivering high-quality software solutions.

Preferred Qualifications:
Active CBP Background Investigation (BI) or Top Secret (TS) Clearance.
Experience supporting one or more applications within the CBP BEAGLE Program under BEMSD.
Experience with automated testing frameworks such as Selenium and Citrus.
Experience developing and deploying applications in AWS cloud environments.
Knowledge of NoSQL databases such as MongoDB, Cassandra, or DynamoDB.
Experience developing cloud-native, containerized applications using modern DevSecOps and CI/CD practices.
Familiarity with microservices architecture and enterprise application integration patterns.
