Instructor/Assistant Professor of Digital Media & Sports Communication

Description: The Instructor/Assistant Professor of Digital Media & Sports Communication will teach undergraduate video production and sports media courses while directing a campus broadcast studio supporting live, recorded, and remote athletic events. The Instructor/ Assistant Professor of Digital Media & Sports Communication will mentor and manage a diverse Sports Media Team, coordinating schedules, assignments, and hands-on production experiences. This role requires close collaboration with Athletics and active recruitment of prospective students, along with strong leadership, organizational, and live-production management skills.Key Responsibilities:Teach undergraduate courses in video production, sports media, and others as needed and as assignedCoordinate activities and recruitment for a large and diverse student Sports Media TeamServe as director of new campus broadcast and video production studioWork collaboratively with Athletics to ensure effective media support for remote broadcasts Requirements: EducationMaster's Degree or higher in the field of Digital Media or a related field, or a Bachelor's Degree and professional certifications in Digital Media or a related field.Video ProductionExperience producing engaging video and digital content across platformsPortfolio showcasing knowledge of diverse production styles, client collaboration, and current social media and digital storytelling trendsProficiency in camera operation, cinematography, lighting, audio, editing workflows, motion graphics, live and multi-camera production, drone or mobile video, studio and field production techniquesExperience with industry-standard softwareKnowledge of current content creation, branding, and social media strategiesSports MediaAbility to manage live sports production workflows for multiple sportsAbility to manage basic broadcast studio operations including vMix production, studio and remote camera operation, lighting, audio productionAbility to manage remote broadcast operationsExperience in sports storytelling, journalism, photography, and creating digital content across multiple delivery platformsLeadership & ManagementAbility to lead, mentor, and motivate student teams with varying skill levelsDemonstrated success in building collaborative, high-performing teamsCommitment to student development, coaching, and experiential learningExceptional organizational and logistical coordination skillsAbility to manage complex production schedules, assignments, and deadlines across multiple sports seasonsExperience overseeing live or remote broadcast operationsStrong attention to detail to ensure quality control in live and recorded productionsExcellent interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and writtenProven ability to collaborate effectively with athletics staff, coaches, and campus stakeholdersStudent Recruitment & OutreachAbility to engage and recruit prospective students, including outreach to high school programsStrong public-facing communication and relationship-building skillsExperience representing programs at events, visits, and community engagementsPassion for promoting academic programs and student opportunitiesWhy Join Tiffin University?Tiffin University offers a collaborative, mission-driven environment where your financial expertise directly supports student success and institutional growth.
