May require work on campus or off campus.Job Summary and DescriptionTeaching faculty are professional educators who have the primary responsibility of fulfilling the District mission of providing a quality education for all students attending the colleges. Categories include full-time, temporary with benefits, and temporary without benefits. Full-time faculty members are classified according to the ranks of Instructor, Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, and Professor. Faculty members are responsible to a department/program chairperson. The relationship of the faculty member to the student is one of leader, teacher, advisor, and facilitator of learning. Faculty members will uphold the mission and values of the colleges' and foster effective working relationships with students and colleagues.BUSI 1301 Business PrinciplesThis course provides a survey of economic systems,forms of business ownership, and considerations for running a business.Students will learn various aspects of business, management, and leadershipfunctions, organizational considerations, and decision-making processes.Financial topics are introduced, including accounting, money and banking, andsecurities markets. Also included are discussions of business challenges in thelegal and regulatory environment, business ethics, social responsibility, and internationalbusiness.
