Job DescriptionPosition: Heavy Civil SuperintendentLocation: Projects throughout Ohio, West Virginia, Pennsylvania, Kentucky, and Indiana (regular travel required)Employment Type: Full-timeGPAC has partnered with a well-established and reputable construction contractor who is seeking an experienced Heavy Civil Superintendent to lead complex site development, utility, and water/wastewater infrastructure projects. This key leadership role is responsible for the safety, quality, efficiency, production, and timely completion of heavy civil projects.Key ResponsibilitiesOversee all field operations for heavy civil site development projects, with primary focus on water, wastewater, pump stations, water mains, sanitary sewer, storm drainage, and large-scale utilitiesDevelop, refine, and manage project schedules, including two-week look-ahead forecastsInterpret contract drawings, specifications, and mass excavation diagrams to plan and execute efficient earthmoving, grading, and site preparation operationsCoordinate subcontractors, material vendors, and field crews to ensure project milestones are metManage project costs, company assets, and daily production ratesEnforce company safety policies, quality standards, and core values dailyLead weekly foreman meetings and develop daily crew assignmentsMaintain strong working relationships with owners, engineers, and inspectorsEnsure full regulatory compliance (OSHA, EPA, local, state, and federal regulations)Create and manage project documentation, including daily reports, quantity tracking, and as-builtsSupport estimating with production rates, manpower, and equipment needs during biddingQualifications & Experience (Required)Minimum 10+ years of progressive responsibility supervising heavy civil construction projectsStrong background in water, wastewater, utilities, and heavy civil site development is essentialProven experience with mass excavation, grading, earthwork, storm drainage, water mains, sanitary sewers, and pump stationsAbility to read and interpret complex civil drawings, specifications, and mass excavation diagramsExperience managing large crews, multiple subcontractors, and high-value projects ($10M+ preferred)Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skillsValid driver's license and ability to travel extensively to project sitesPreferredCivil Engineering or Construction Management degreeExperience with water/wastewater constructionProficiency with heavy equipment production (dozers, excavators, loaders, scrapers, compactors)Familiarity with scheduling software (Primavera P6 or Microsoft Project)What Our Client OffersCompetitive salary + performance bonuses100% Employee-Owned (ESOP)Comprehensive benefits: Medical, Dental, Vision, Life, Disability, 401(k)Company vehicle + fuel cardPer diem when travelingStrong commitment to safety and employee developmentApply Today!To be considered for this opportunity, please submit your resume to James.seta@gogpac.com or call James at (517) 325-2935 to further discuss.
