Job Title: Laboratory Director – Clinical LaboratoryLocation: Angola, IndianaJob Type: Permanent / Direct HireCompensation: $120k per annumJob Overview:We are seeking an experienced Laboratory Director to oversee the administrative, operational, and technical management of a clinical laboratory. This role is responsible for ensuring regulatory compliance, maintaining high-quality laboratory testing standards, and leading continuous improvement initiatives. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership experience in a clinical laboratory environment and meet CLIA '88 requirements for a laboratory supervisor .Key Responsibilities:Provide overall leadership and management of the clinical laboratory operations.Ensure full compliance with CLIA, CAP, and other applicable regulatory standards .Oversee laboratory quality assurance, testing accuracy, and performance improvement initiatives.Manage laboratory staff (approximately 20–25 FTEs across multiple shifts ), including hiring, training, scheduling, and performance evaluations.Collaborate with clinical teams to ensure efficient laboratory workflows and timely test results.Monitor laboratory budgets, operational efficiency, and resource utilization.Ensure proper validation, maintenance, and operation of laboratory equipment and systems.Maintain accurate documentation and compliance with laboratory policies and procedures.Systems & Technology:Laboratory Information System (LIS): Epic BeakerSpecimen Collection & Documentation: Epic RoverReference Lab Interfaces: SBMF (Pathology) and LabCorp (Clinical Pathology)Instrumentation:Chemistry: Roche Cobas Pure integrated chemistry/immunoassay platformHematology: Sysmex hematology analyzersCoagulation: Siemens coagulation systemsMolecular / Rapid Testing: Cepheid GeneXpertUrinalysis: Clinitek automated urinalysis systemBlood Bank: Gel card-based testingEducation & Qualifications:Candidates must meet CLIA '88 supervisory requirements with one of the following:Bachelor's degree with 4+ years of laboratory training or experience in high-complexity testing specialties, ORMaster's degree with 2+ years of laboratory training or experience in high-complexity testing specialties, ORMD / DO / DPM or PhD with certification in clinical pathology or at least 1 year of laboratory training or experience in high-complexity testing .Experience Required:Minimum 5 years of experience in a clinical laboratory setting.At least 3 years of experience in microbiology and blood bank .Demonstrated leadership or supervisory experience in laboratory operations.Certifications:Certification as a Medical Technologist or equivalent through a recognized accrediting agency such as ASCP, AMT, NCA , or similar.Why Join This Opportunity:Lead and shape the operations of a well-equipped clinical laboratory.Work with advanced laboratory technologies and systems.Manage and mentor a skilled multidisciplinary laboratory team.Opportunity to make a meaningful impact on patient diagnostics and quality of care.Interested?
