Reliability Engineer

PURPOSE OF THE JOB The Gastonia Reliability Engineer will be responsible for identifying opportunities and implementing solutions to maximize equipment reliability. The incumbent will establish maintenance strategies and methods to improve site equipment reliability. Reports To: Maintenance Leader Span of Control: No direct reports JOB RESPONSIBILITIES Drive a zero Environmental Health & Safety incident culture, support and participate in incident investigations to determine root cause and identify preventive actions, and correct unsafe conditions and acts immediately Support the facility through a Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) operating system targeting: Zero injuries Zero defects Zero losses Root Cause Analysis on chronic maintenance and control issues developing solutions, improving reliability and reducing life-cycle cost Problem resolution techniques – 5-Why; Ishikawa; etc Promoting consistency by standardizing equipment, procedures and operations Providing daily support for troubleshooting, planning, and repair Training and developing others in reliable concepts and techniques Assuring the delivery of reliable equipment from engineering concept to production Accomplish other related duties consistent with the nature of the job as asked Manages data collection processes and analyzes data acquired from predictive tools measuring vibration, oil/lubrication, thermography, and ultrasound Technical and professional knowledge & experience Strong Mechanical skills Process Control: concepts of variation, SPC, FMEA, and RCFA Machine controls experience/knowledge Planning and organizing Initiative, Teamwork, Independence Sense of urgency/responsiveness Customer focus, Decision-making Building strategic work relationships Interpersonal skills, oral and written communication Tolerance for stress Support the facility with other duties as required JOB REQUIREMENTS MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering Minimum 3-5 years heavy industrial manufacturing engineering Minimum of 3 years predictive/preventive maintenance PREFERRED EXPERIENCE Experience with knowledge of Six Sigma Microsoft Software: Word, Excel, and Outlook Digital Labeling Systems SAP and CAD Experience with TPM or similar continuous improvement system Strong Electrical skills ABOUT OWENS CORNING Masonite is now proudly part of Owens Corning.
