We are seeking a Program Manager - Level 1 to support operations in our Goleta, CA, facility.Learn more about Spacecraft Components at our website: https://www.northropgrumman.com/space/spacecraft-componentsOverviewReporting to the Deployables Portfolio Manager in Goleta, the Program Manager - Level 1 will be responsible for managing key Solar Array programs for the business. This Program Manager will require technical expertise, strong leadership potential and collaborative people skills with the proven ability and experience to work within a technically dynamic, high-growth, fast-paced and strategically important operating unit.Role And ResponsibilitiesLead and direct cross-functional engineering teams during proposal, design, manufacturing, and delivery phases of products in development and production phasesTransition designs to manufacturing, working with the technical team to identify ways to streamline manufacturing and assembly processes, achieving required delivery rates and reduced cost targetsDevelop and execute to project budgets and schedules, including Earned Value Management System (EVMS), critical path management, Estimates-at-Completion (EACs), and workload forecastsWork with suppliers and be able to articulate project requirementsBrief internal and external customers and leadership on progress of work assignedLead failure root cause analysis and corrective actions as neededTrack and report on program performance metrics including EACs and schedule performanceEstablish milestones and monitors adherence to master plans and schedulesIdentify program problems and obtains solutions, such as allocation of resources or changing contractual specificationsWork closely with leadership to ensure full compliance with Division, Corporate, and Government policiesBasic QualificationsBachelor’s degree in engineering or technical discipline with 5 years’ experience supporting customers in a project/technical lead role. An additional four years’ experience may be considered in lieu of degree 2+ years of Program or Project Management experience or similar (e.g. Lead IPT (Integrated Product Team), or Lead NPT (New Product Team) or Systems Engineering leadExperience in design for manufacturing and transition to production programs Gated design development experience (PDR, CDR)Strong interpersonal, communication and presentation skillsProven analytical, technical, strategic and problem-solving skillsProficient in MS Office Suite and MS ProjectUS Citizenship is a requirement for employment Preferred QualificationsFamiliarity with Space Deployable systemsWorking Environment & Physical DemandsTravel to customer site up to 5-10% of the time both domestic and international as requiredPrimary Level Salary Range: $133,000.00 - $199,600.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
