We look forward to hearing from you soon! *** Position has preference for Bilingual (English-Spanish) *** OVERVIEW: Interfaces with clients through greeting, scheduling, processing payments, and maintaining work area by performing the following duties. Also assists in examination and treatment of patients under direction of provider by performing general medical assistance. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Front Desk Coordinator: Greets patients, verify appointments and directs them to the waiting area. Handles incoming calls, transfers calls, takes messages, retrieve messages from answering service and return calls. Schedule/reschedule appointments for patients. Verify appointments with patients 1-2 days in advance of scheduled appointment. Pull, prepare and update patient charts and files. When applicable, collect co-payments or cash payments. Ensure proper credits/payments are maintained on patient accounts. Maintain smooth channel of communication between patient, Provider and other clinical staff. Straightens and cleans reception area. Maintain and make certain that all clinic forms are replenished in a timely manner. Maintain photocopier to ensure proper operation and adequate paper supply. Provide coverage in other clinics when needed. Medical Assistant: Rooms patients as per protocol. Interviews patients appropriately & documents in EMR. Obtains vitals as necessary including pulse rate, temperature, blood pressure, weight, and height, and documents in EMR. Obtain consents as necessary as per protocol for patients. Prepares treatment rooms for examination of patients. Drapes patients with covering and positions instruments and equipment as necessary. Accurately performs medication count. Cleans patient exam room as appropriate. Inventories medical supplies and materials Assists with consents as per protocol. Documents in the medical record appropriately and accurately. Patient information is appropriately recorded into EMR. Assist with phones when needed. Documents telephone encounters in EMR as per protocol. Provide coverage in multiple locations. Other duties as assigned including administrative and/or non-clinical duties. Maintains HIPAA confidentiality. Other duties may be assigned. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: This job has no supervisory responsibilities. ABILITIES Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization. Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs. Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations. EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, and TRAINING: High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS: There are no specific certification requirements for this position. Medical Assistant diploma or certification a plus, but not required. Basic medical assisting duties can be learned through on-the-job training.
