Registered Nurse – First Assist (RNFA) – Travel in Templeton, California Overview Join a travel RN First Assist role in a Short Term Acute Care setting. This 13-week assignment starts on 04/27/2026, offering a weekly pay range of $2,695 to $2,780. The shift pattern is 4 days of 10 hours each. Candidates must hold RN licensure in California and have RNFA certification with substantial OR scrub and circulate experience. The role involves orthopedic, gynecologic, orthro-totals, and general surgery procedures, with one night of call per week. This position is with a short-term assignment at a facility that delivers perioperative care across multiple specialties. Key Highlights - Weekly pay: $2,695–$2,780 per week - Duration: 13 weeks - Shift: 4x10-hour days - Start date: 04/27/2026 - Setting: Short Term Acute Care Hospital - Travel assignment with required RNFA certification and OR experience Responsibilities - Provide direct perioperative care as the registered nurse first assistant during surgical cases including orthopedic, gynecologic, orthototal, and general surgery. - Scrub, circulate, and maintain a sterile field; assist the surgeon with exposure, retraction, tissue handling, and hemostasis. - Facilitate instrument counts, maintain patient safety before, during, and after procedures, and coordinate with the surgical team for efficient case flow. - Monitor intraoperative patient status, communicate changes, and document pertinent operative details. - Participate in postoperative handoffs and ensure accurate charting; respond to intraoperative and postoperative needs as part of the team. - Participate in one night of call per week as required.
