Elementary and Secondary SchoolsOther Schools and InstructionColleges, Universities, and Professional SchoolsJunior CollegesEducational Support ServicesThe Randolph Community Middle School English teacher will facilitate student success in academic and interpersonal skills through academic courses of study and implement district approved curriculum, documenting teaching and student progress/activities/outcomes; addressing specific needs of students; providing a safe and optimal learning environment; and providing feedback to students, parents and administration regarding student progress, expectations and goals.The ideal candidate will:Collaborate with school personnel, parents and various community agencies for the purpose of improving the quality of student outcomes, developing solutions and planning curriculum.Create a classroom environment that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interests of students.Promote equity and appreciation of diversityMaintain classroom management and adhere to PBIS expectationsPromote high standards and expectations for student achievementPlan and deliver effective instruction to students in the middle school gradesExecute the subject matter knowledge requirements specific for English Teachers, including but not limited to:Correct usage of the English languageDeep understanding of sentence structure, grammar, vocabulary, pronunciation, and literatureCreative composition such as prose, poetry, short stories, narrativesTechnical writing skills, including news articles, reports, journals, and essay.Development of the student's oral and written communication skills, including critical thinking, oral and written comprehension, and problem solving skills.Terms: 182 days consistent with the Randolph Education Association (REA) collective bargaining agreementSalary: Consistent with the REA salary schedule.
