Credit Manager

Position Summary: The Credit Manager is entrusted with the responsibility of overseeing the organization’s credit risk management process and is responsible for building a team of professionals to handle the various tasks that includes - AR Processing/ Credit Analysis/ Credit and Collections, etc. In this role, the Credit Manager will play a crucial role in maintaining the financial health of Case Paper Co, Inc. by managing the credit offered to its customers and minimizing credit risk. The right person will have a demonstrated track record of success in effective credit management, including assessing creditworthiness, managing A/R, and mitigating credit risk. This practical experience provides invaluable insights and skills that complement formal education. Responsibilities: Monitor the credit granting and updating process, accepting or rejecting new clients based on credibility and potential revenues from the client. New account setup/approving credit applications – effectively mitigating risks associated with extending credit to new customers. Consider factors such as financial history, credit score, and payment behavior. Business growth and optimization. Evaluate credit risk accurately by conducting thorough assessments of potential customers’ creditworthiness. Credit offers valuable insights to sales teams, allowing them to focus on prospects with the best potential for conversion and long-term profitability. Days Sales Outstanding (DSO) control – implementing measures to reduce DSO below target, for optimizing cash flow. This includes monitoring A/R, promptly following up on invoices, and implementing efficient credit policies. Collaborating with external collection agencies , as needed, for effective debt recovery. Credit Policy development and implementation – ensuring adherence to legal compliance and best practices. Regularly review and update policies to align with changing business needs and industry regulations/standards. Coordinate with the sales department to establish credit terms for new customers and manage existing client relationships. Work closely with Accounting Dept. to reconcile A/R and ensure accuracy of invoicing data. Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field. An advanced degree or credit certification (like a Certified Credit Professional (CCP) designation) can be advantageous. Leadership and team collaboration 5 or more years of solid experience in credit management, finance or a similar role – preferably in a manufacturing or industrial company. Proven experience in negotiation and customer relationship management. Strong understanding of financial statements and accounting principles. Excellent analytical and decision-making abilities Proficiency in credit analysis software and MS Office Suite Familiarity with relevant legal requirements and best practices in credit management. Familiarity with ERP’s Ability to work under pressure
