SMT Process Specialist

You'll be part of an elite production support team at a company that has been bringing innovations to life for over 70 years.SCHEDULETraining Period (approximately 3 months): Monday - Friday | 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM (paid)Regular Production Schedule (after training): Thursday - Saturday | 5:00 AM - 5:00 PM (compressed 3-day work week)What You'll DoProvide immediate engineering support for build processes and equipment in response to production floor issuesOversee production for prototype and NPI assemblies requiring additional engineering inputDevelop, manage, and update machine programs for production equipmentProgram and maintain jobs in Factory Logix MES, ensuring customer data and datasheets are accurately reflected in build documentationUpdate Materials Lists, Factory Logix integration settings, and special instructions in Epicor ERPCollaborate with Engineering and Manufacturing teams to develop and improve manufacturing processesProcure and modify tooling and fixtures to optimize the manufacturing processServe as Subject Matter Expert (SME) for equipment programming and operationReview customer documentation for clarity and flag discrepancies through established issue systemsTrain operators and technicians on procedures and processes; document training deliveryParticipate in new equipment installationsDrive continuous improvement and defect reduction initiativesChampion Lean Manufacturing principles and safe work practicesWhat You NeedHigh School diploma or GED required; two-year technical certificate or equivalent preferredMinimum 3 years of hands-on experience in electronics manufacturing, equipment programming, and operationIntermediate to advanced computer skills with the ability to work across multiple software systemsProficiency in MS OfficeStrong problem-solving skills — able to define problems, collect data, and draw valid conclusionsAbility to read and interpret technical drawings, manufacturing documents, and machine reportsAbility to work both metric and imperial measurement systemsBONUS POINTSExperience with PCB CAD systemsPrior experience with Factory Logix MES or Epicor ERPBackground in NPI or prototype production supportCERTIFICATIONSRequired Certifications Are Completed Through Paid In-house TrainingMilwaukee Electronics Component Identification CourseIPC-A-610 Workmanship Standard Awareness CoursePhysical DemandsThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
