Dynamic Assistant

The Dynamic Assistant is responsible for supporting a safe, respectful, and nurturing environment that promotes each students' development of self-discipline, self-confidence, cooperation, and responsibility.The role will contain multiple classroom interactions including PK3 through 8th grade students. Dynamic Assistant will assist with the physical education program, lunch pick up, PK3-Kdg daily assist, Aftercare, etc.Key Areas of FocusClassroom and CurriculumCheck in with Classroom Guide on the pressing needs for the dayAssist in preparation of and clean up from classroomsStay alert to instances where tone-keeping is needed; redirect students to purposeful workBe proactive rather than reactive. Anticipate and peacefully stop disruptions before they beginBe observant; communicate pertinent observations with the Classroom Guide, immediatelyAttend enrichment and special events with students to monitor behavior Mealtime and RecessFacilitate students' handwashing before eating lunchPromote student communion and appropriate conversation during lunchMonitor behavior at recess very carefullyAdults must be positioned in a manner that offers maximum supervision of students at playModel/teach appropriate use of play equipmentReport any injuries as soon as they occurStaff and CommunityCollaborate regularly with the school's Instructional Teams to implement a cohesive educational programAttend regularly scheduled Staff MeetingsAttend various Professional Development offerings, with a focus on those that promote student achievement in a public Montessori environmentPromote favorable public relations for the School in the community
