With a modern fabrication facility and experienced operations team already in place, this role offers the opportunity to support complex steel projects while working alongside experienced leadership and estimating personnel.Role Summary:The Senior Estimator will be responsible for overseeing and preparing detailed structural steel estimates for commercial and industrial construction projects. This individual will manage all aspects of the bid process including takeoffs, scope reviews, subcontractor/vendor pricing, bid coordination, proposal development, and estimating strategy.The ideal candidate will have extensive experience estimating structural steel fabrication and erection projects and possess a strong understanding of drawings, specifications, steel construction practices, labor/productivity forecasting, and project execution workflows. This role will work closely with operations, project management, fabrication leadership, and executive teams throughout the preconstruction process.Potential hybrid flexibility may be available for highly experienced candidates located within the Greater Houston region.Project Type:Commercial Structural Steel, Industrial Facilities, Manufacturing, Non-Building Structures, Healthcare, Distribution, Government, Specialty Steel Projects, etc.Job Responsibilities:Prepare complete structural steel estimates including material, labor, equipment, subcontractor, and vendor pricingPerform detailed takeoffs from structural and architectural drawings/specificationsReview bid documents, project requirements, and scope details for completeness and accuracyCoordinate with vendors and subcontractors to obtain pricing and scope coverageDevelop bid proposals, scope clarifications, inclusions/exclusions, and qualification documentsWork closely with estimating leadership to maintain bid schedules and proposal deadlinesTrack bid activity and maintain communication with General Contractors regarding bid status and project updatesCollaborate with operations and project management teams regarding project execution strategies and budgetingReview project specifications to ensure all scope items are captured within estimatesAssist with value engineering opportunities and cost-saving recommendationsSupport estimating process improvements and department workflow initiativesCommunicate effectively with internal stakeholders, clients, vendors, and subcontractorsPerforms miscellaneous job-related duties as assignedQualifications/Requirements:Minimum 5+ years of estimating experience within structural steel fabrication/erection environmentsStrong understanding of structural steel estimating processes and commercial construction workflowsAbility to read and interpret structural and architectural drawings/specificationsStrong knowledge of steel fabrication, erection sequencing, labor/productivity forecasting, and roject executionExperience performing detailed quantity takeoffs and scope analysisStrong communication, organizational, and analytical skillsExcellent math and problem-solving abilitiesProficiency with Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Office Suite, and BluebeamExperience with On-Screen Takeoff or similar estimating software preferredKnowledge of AISC standards, practices, and structural steel construction methodsAbility to manage multiple estimates and deadlines simultaneouslyBachelor’s Degree preferred; equivalent industry experience consideredEligibility to work in the U.S.Legal & EEO Language:Tiello LLC is proud to be an Equal Opportunity Employer.All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, disability, protected veteran status, or any other characteristic protected by law.Your Right to Work:In compliance with federal law, all persons hired will be required to verify identity and eligibility to work in the United States and complete the required employment eligibility verification document form upon hire.
