Intellectual Property Associate

An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Patent Associate with 3–6 years of experience to join a highly regarded Intellectual Property practice with a strong national platform. This role offers the chance to work alongside a multidisciplinary IP team advising innovative businesses on the development, protection, and commercialisation of cutting edge technologies. The position is well suited to a technically strong attorney who thrives in a collaborative, forward thinking environment.Responsibilities:Draft, file, and prosecute U.S. patent applications across a range of technologiesAdvise clients on patentability, infringement, and freedom to operate mattersWork closely with inventors, engineers, and business stakeholders to develop IP strategiesInterface with the United States Patent and Trademark Office on patent prosecution mattersAssist with portfolio development, IP counselling, and related advisory workSupport IP transactions, licensing, and settlement negotiations where requiredQualifications:J.D. required3–6 years of patent prosecution experience post law schoolUndergraduate degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Software Engineering, or Computer ScienceAdmission to the USPTO or eligibility to sit for the Patent BarMust already be admitted to the State Bar Prior technical or industry experience in areas such as consumer electronics, software, web-based services, full-stack development, generative AI, machine learning, data structures, data storage, or databases is preferredStrong academic background with excellent writing, analytical, and communication skillsAbility to work effectively both independently and as part of a teamMust have the right to work in the U.SBenefits:Competitive salary range of $235,000–$305,000, depending on experience and locationOpportunity to work within a nationally recognised IP platformExposure to sophisticated, technology-driven clients across multiple industriesCollaborative and supportive team cultureLong-term professional development and career growth opportunitiesAccess to firmwide resources and multi-office collaborationLocations: Denver Las Vegas Los Angeles New York Reno Sacramento San Diego Santa Barbara Washington, D.C.If you are interested in this position, and you meet the requirements of the role, please click ‘apply now’ to forward an up?to?date copy of your resume.
