You'll lead and manage industrial hygiene projects from start to finish, spending time in the field, guiding technical work, and translating findings into clear, practical recommendations. You'll work closely with a collaborative team while serving as a trusted expert for clients across manufacturing, education, municipal, and commercial environments.You'll balance hands-on technical work with leadership responsibilities, including mentoring staff, shaping project scopes, and supporting business growth. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys variety, ownership, and making a real impact on workplace health and safety.Lead Industrial Hygiene Projects: Plan and conduct field assessments related to industrial hygiene, hazardous materials, safety, and indoor air quality, evaluating risks and developing practical, defensible solutions for clients. Deliver Clear, High‑Quality Reporting: Serve as a primary author and reviewer for complex technical reports, ensuring findings and recommendations are accurate, well‑communicated, and client‑ready. Manage Scope, Proposals, and Budgets: Develop project scopes, budgets, and fee proposals, and oversee projects from kickoff through completion with a focus on quality and efficiency. Act as a Trusted Client Partner: Serve as a key technical contact, present findings, support proposals, and contribute to strong, long‑term client relationships across a diverse client base. Lead, Mentor, and Grow the Practice: Guide project teams, mentor junior staff, contribute to professional organizations, and support business development efforts within the office and region.What We Are Looking For:We are looking for someone with a solid understanding of OSHA, EPA, and DOT regulations and proven hands‑on experience applying industrial hygiene principles in the field. You're comfortable navigating complex regulatory environments, making informed technical decisions, and serving as a trusted resource for both clients and project teams.Qualifications: Education: Bachelor's degree in Industrial Hygiene, Occupational Safety and Health, Public Health, Physical Sciences, or a related fieldExperience: Minimum 10 years of relevant Industrial Hygiene and/or Occupational Safety and Health experienceCertifications/Professional Licensure-Registrations: Certified Industrial Hygienist Certified Safety ProfessionalKey Competencies:Excellent communication and public speaking/presentation skillsA proven track record of project management, meeting project requirements, and building client relationshipsYou can travel throughout the Southeast to project sites to support projects as needed.We Are S&ME:At S&ME, we're committed to your growth, professionally and personally.
