Job ResponsibilitiesUtilizes the HMMS program processing all issued parts, mechanic labor, service tickets, the opening and closing of work orders, inventory maintenance and processes monthly reports meeting all deadlines. Utilizes the SCEIS system preparing shopping carts, purchase orders, goods receipts, etc. to purchase needed parts and materials. Maintains contact with vendors to obtain needed stock and to keep updated on new supplies, materials and equipment. Answers inquiries about stock, helps resolve discrepancies in orders shipped and or returned. Picks up parts from local stores to complete equipment services. Maintains the repair shops detailed parts inventory (.950 and .990) and orders parts as needed. Maintains inventory control of SCDOT stockroom and responsible for ordering, stocking, accounting and dispensing tools, repair parts, and supplies for Jasper Mechanic Shop. Performs procurement for Shop operations according to the procurement policy and procedures handles purchases for the shop area as needed. Acts as a shop credit card holder and Liaison person responsible for collecting and maintaining invoices and reconciling billing statement for several credit card holders within the Maintenance Shop. Insures that invoices are correct and within policy. Monitors and updates the Safety Data Sheets (SDS) in books as needed and maintains compliance for QMT reviews. Inspects and supervises cleaning of storeroom area in accordance with OSHA safety and fire regulations. Assists in routine maintenance, which includes cleaning shop offices and restrooms. Assists in performing cleaning duties in order to maintain a clean work environment. Receives and directs to appropriate personnel telephone callers, visitors to the repair shop office and radio transmittals. Assists in emergency and inclement weather operations (snow/ice, hurricanes, etc.) working in the mechanic shop and/or the main office. May include being available for extended working hours or 12-hour shifts. Performs other related duties as assigned.Minimum and Additional RequirementsA high school diploma and six (6) months of work experience directly related to the area of employment; or an approved acceptable equivalence.Physical Requirement: The physical demands for the essential functions of this position include sitting or standing at a desk for extended periods and working on a computer. This position requires working in an office environment, warehouse environment, and/or outside in all weather conditions. Must be able to lift up to 30 lbs.
