Lead DevOps Engineer (Remote - US)
Overview:
In this role you will own and evolve multi-account AWS platforms to support enterprise apps. You'll partner with security, DB, and cloud teams to deliver secure, observable, and recoverable services. You will implement GitOps, automate infrastructure, and guide production readiness across development stages. You'll work with cutting-edge tools to strengthen automation, security, and reliability while shaping scalable cloud architectures.
Responsibilities:
- Own multi-account AWS environments (VPC, IAM, EKS, ELB, CloudFront, Route 53, ACM, S3, ECR) across dev, QA, staging, prod
- Develop/maintain reusable Terraform modules and Terragrunt configurations, including remote state, drift detection, and recovery procedures
- Administer EKS Auto Mode and Kubernetes resources with Helm, Argo CD, Application
- Sets; manage upgrades, access, capacity, ingress, secrets, reliability
- Support GitOps controllers and Kubernetes automation (AWS Controllers for Kubernetes, Kubernetes Resource Orchestrator) and resolve lifecycle issues
- Build/maintain GitHub Actions workflows, AWS OIDC auth, runners, pipelines, environment promotion, approvals, rollback procedures
- Operate Microsoft SQL Server on RDS including backups, PITR, performance monitoring, and DMS migration workflows
- Implement security/audit controls (IAM, KMS, Secrets Manager, AWS Config, CloudTrail, GuardDuty, Security Hub, Inspector, WAF, logging)
- Build observability with Prometheus, Grafana, CloudWatch, OpenTelemetry, and AWS Distro for OpenTelemetry; establish SLAs with dashboards, metrics, logs, traces, alerts
