Material HandlerThe Material Handler is responsible for the manual labor associated with receiving and moving materials within the project yard. This role involves the safe and efficient operation of a forklift to transport materials. The Material Handler will work as part of the materials management team but will not be responsible for any transactions or duties within the Jovix system.Safely and efficiently unload and receive incoming materialsOperate a forklift to move materials and equipment around the yard to designated storage areasPerform manual labor, including lifting, carrying, and organizing materialsEnsure materials are stored in a safe, organized, and accessible mannerAdhere to all project safety procedures and protocols, with a primary focus on safe material handling and forklift operationMaintain a clean and orderly work environment in the storage yardAssist with inventory counts and verification as directedReport any damaged materials or safety hazards to the supervisorProven experience as a forklift operatorValid forklift certificationExperience in a material handling or similar role in a construction or industrial environmentStrong understanding of and commitment to safety proceduresPerforms other duties as assignedComplies with all policies and standardsMinimum of 3 years' experienceMust be able to assess through Burns and McDonnell assessment programAbility to stand, walk, sit, or reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, bend, crouch, or crawlAbility to lift, carry, and/or move up to 50 poundsAbility to work long hours and in adverse weather conditionsAbility to work in an environment with loud noises and vibrationsAbility to properly wear and/or use Personal Protection Equipment (PPE)Ability to utilize vision abilities including close, distance, and peripheral vision to operate equipment safelyAbility to seek advice, make decisions, and exercise sound judgmentAbility to work under stressful situationsAbility to learn and adopt new processes and technologyAbility to apply verbal and/or written instructions or other information
