If so, please read on…L&S Electric is looking for someone that can design and implement PLC control and protection systems for industrial and electrical generation facilities. As well as generate all design work associated with assigned projects, including design reports, documentation and programming.ResponsibilitiesCommissioning of electrical, automation, and hydraulic systemsProgram and Troubleshoot PLC-based control systemsProgram and Troubleshoot HMI and Operator InterfacesDesign electrical schematic diagrams, external electrical wiring diagrams, field instrumentation systems, internal panel wiring drawings, and PLC drawings.Design, develop, test, and start-up projects as requestedEnsure effective information handoffsInterpret electrical drawingsInterpret mechanical drawingsPerform onsite inspections and project “kick-off” meetings as assignedPerform peer reviewsPerform electrical calculations for system sizing and component selectionPerform FAT, installation supervision, SAT, customer training, and system commissioning as requestedPrepare O&M manual, factory acceptance test (FAT), installation, site acceptance test (SAT), and customer training documentsSupport the division as requestedUtilize electrical and hydraulic test equipmentWork effectively with all other project team members such as control, electrical, HMI, and mechanical disciplinesWork with designers to develop drawingsRequirementsBachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Technical degree plus 3 years of related experienceAbility to travel in excess of 30% domestically and internationallyAble to perform all essential functions of the jobDesirableFamiliarity with power generation equipment, turbine governors, or excitation systemsStrong conceptualization ability along with strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills, including the ability to explain complex technical issues to decision-makers and project teamsExperience with AutoCAD, or EPlanUSA or Canadian professional engineering registration or the ability to become registeredOther RequirementsAbility to travel to CanadaAbility to work independently and in a team environment with minimal supervisionAble to wear personal protective equipment; hearing protection, hard hat, safety glasses, etc.Able to work for any employer in the United StatesDisplay a positive can-do attitudeFluent in the English languagePossess a strong attention to detailProficient use of personal computer, operating knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and ProjectShall sign L&S Electric confidentiality agreementShall work as required to complete work requirementsSimultaneously execute multiple projectsValid driver’s license, able to be insuredValid passport or ability to obtain oneWillingness to learn new skills and approaches to dealing with problemsWorking Conditions Aerial work may sometimes be necessary Environmental conditions vary from facility to facility (i.e. heat, noise) Occasional lifting of heavy objects Uneven or slippery walking surfaces Work is performed at the customer job site and at L&S Electric facilities.SummaryWhy L & S Electric?We don’t just offer a job—we offer a future.
