Senior Engineer - Power Systems - Generation - RemoteAn exciting opportunity has come up for a Senior Engineer with strong electrical utilities domain knowledge to play a key role in administering, maintaining, and optimizing Energy Management Systems (EMS) for power generation applications, ensuring high system availability, performance, and security.This is an excellent opportunity for a technically strong engineer with deep expertise in power system applications, SCADA, and EMS platforms to work on complex, real-world systems within a consultancy environment.Ke ResponsibilitiesAdministering and optimizing the Energy Management System (EMS) through application configuration, tuning, and security patching.Performing technical corrective actions to restore failed or degraded EMS services.Conducting code reviews, deployment, testing, and monitoring of break/fix patches and system modifications.Working on live customer systems, including installing and validating fixes.Troubleshooting and resolving complex technical issues across integrated systems and platforms.Required Skills and ExperienceOver 5 years of experience in Power System Applications (Generation), including Automatic Generation Control (AGC), Load Frequency Control, Load Forecasting, Economic Dispatch, Power Flow, and Operator Training Simulator (OTS)Hands-on experience with at least one of the following platforms: GE PowerOn Reliance (XA21), AEMS/GDC Platform Software, EMS platforms from Siemens, OSI, ABB, Schneider, or similarProficiency in both Linux and Windows operating environmentsExperience with communication protocols such as IEC 60870-5-101/104, DNP3, Modbus, or ICCPExperience working with relational databases such as Oracle and SQL Server.Programming experience for system integration using languages such as C, C++, PERL, or similar.Strong skills in SQL, shell scripting, and the ability to read, interpret, and debug system logs.Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, with a methodical and analytical approach to debugging.Desired SkillsSCADA experience is highly desirable.
