Be part of a team that’s committed to service, innovation, and community.Job SummaryJob DescriptionOverviewThe Lead Lifeguard assists, supports, and works with the Water Safety Supervisor in supervising and leading Lifeguards and Waterpark Attendants to provide for patron safety and incident response during park operations. Work is done seasonally.Essential FunctionsSupervises Seasonal Staff in absence of Water Safety Supervisor dailyAssist as needed with weekly staff schedulingMonitors and maintains water chemistry by conducting water chemical tests and documents all recordings daily ensuring compliance with health codes, adding chemicals or contacting help when neededCompletes required reports daily including accident and injury reports as well as daily inspections.Conducts weekly In-service training for Lifeguards, Waterpark Attendants, and other aquatics safety personnel.Enforces Pool Rules and Policies daily, serves as a lifeguard on duty when needed and observes lifeguards and swimmers in the water in a proactive mannerAssists with Pre-Season Lifeguard Training and operationsPerforms any and all other work as needed or assigned.Knowledge And SkillsKnowledge of Lifeguarding and first aid skills and conducting in-service training for aquatic safety personnel.Knowledge of pool safety and City policies.Knowledge of water park rules for operation.Knowledge of swimming pool maintenance and chemistry.Ability to lead and train lifeguarding and safety personnel.Ability to identify distressed persons.Ability to handle emergency situations quickly and effectively,Ability to swim, run, walk, stand, and perform a wide range of physical abilities.Ability to provide customer service and ensure patron safety for a large number of patrons at a large aquatics facility.Communicating effectively verbally and in writing.Establishing and maintaining effective working relationships.ExperienceOne (1) year of experience as a lifeguard working with a large number of safety personnel in an aquatic facility.Licenses and CertificationsLifeguardWorking Conditions and HazardsThe employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, reach with arms and hands, climb or balance, and to stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.The employee is occasionally required to carry, lift or move items.Work performed outside with regards to environmental conditions.Salary Range$21.50 - $22.33The salary listed on this job posting is the starting salary range; amount offered will depend upon qualifications.City of Dallas is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
