The ideal candidate will be a skilled software developer who can rapidly build, iterate, and ship AI-powered tools and applications. They should be highly proficient with AI coding assistants (Claude, OpenAI Codex, Cursor), experienced with agentic AI frameworks and orchestration patterns, and comfortable working across the full stack. In addition, the ideal candidate will possess a degree in computer science, AI, data science, engineering, or similar domain areas, as well as previous experience in consulting.The chosen candidate will become a member of the Digital and Data team at Jacobs, helping drive innovation in technical project work for our clients in collaboration with subject matter experts, technologists, engineers, data scientists, project managers, and more.Location: Hybrid, 2 days in office at any Jacobs office in the United States.A list of offices can be found here: https://www.jacobs.com/locations/americas/united-statesKey Responsibilities:Design, develop, and deploy AI-powered applications and tools using Python, TypeScript/JavaScript, and modern AI frameworks (LangChain, LangGraph, CrewAI, or similar)Build and configure MCP (Model Context Protocol) servers and integrations to connect AI models with enterprise data sources, APIs, and toolingDevelop RAG (Retrieval-Augmented Generation) pipelines, agentic workflows, and AI-assisted automation solutions for internal and client-facing projectsLeverage AI-assisted development tools (Claude, Codex, Cursor, GitHub Copilot) to accelerate delivery and maintain high code qualityCollaborate cross-functionally with subject matter experts, data engineers, and project managers to translate business requirements into production-ready AI solutionsArchitect and implement full-stack solutions including front-end interfaces (React, HTML/CSS/JS), back-end APIs, and cloud-hosted AI servicesEvaluate, integrate, and maintain AI platforms, APIs, and toolchains as the technology landscape evolvesContribute to technical presentations, demos, and documentation for both internal teams and external clientsParticipate in knowledge sharing, code reviews, and mentoring across teams and domainsStay current with rapidly evolving AI tools, models, and best practices; proactively bring new capabilities to the teamHere's what you'll need3-5 years of experience in software development, with at least 1-2 years focused on AI/ML application developmentBachelor's degree in computer science, software engineering, AI, data science, or similar domainDemonstrated proficiency building applications with AI/LLM APIs and frameworksAnthropic Claude API, OpenAI API, LangChain/LangGraph, Model Context Protocol (MCP), or similarStrong proficiency in Python and JavaScript/TypeScript; working knowledge of SQLExperience with containerization (Docker), version control (GitHub), and CI/CD pipelines.Proven ability to use AI-assisted coding tools (Claude, Codex, Cursor, GitHub Copilot) to accelerate development workflowsAbility to travel as necessary to meet project and client requirementsPreferred:Bachelor's or Master's degree in computer science, AI, software engineering, or similar domainExperience in the AEC industryExperience designing and building agentic AI systems, including multi-step orchestration, tool use, and human-in-the-loop patterns using frameworks such as LangGraph, CrewAI, PydanticAI, or similarExperience developing and deploying RESTful APIs and backend services using frameworks such as FastAPI, Flask, or ExpressHands-on experience building RAG pipelines, including document ingestion, chunking strategies, embedding models, vector stores (Pinecone, Weaviate, pgvector, etc.), and retrieval optimizationTechnical proficiency with cloud platforms and data infrastructure such as Microsoft Azure, Microsoft Fabric, Palantir Foundry, Palantir AIP, Google Cloud, Amazon Web Services, Power BI, GIS, and database technologies (data lakes, vector databases, etc.)Posted Salary Range: Minimum120,000.00Posted Salary Range: Upper150,000.00Our health and welfare benefits are designed to invest in you, and in the things you care about.
