Utility Engineer
The Olympic Club, a private member athletic and country club in San Francisco, seeks an Utility Engineer for our City Club property. At The Olympic Club, our members enjoy 2 campuses, 19 sports, world-renowned golf courses, exceptional social and athletic programs as well as 18 hotel rooms and 5 Food & Beverage outlets. Our City Clubhouse is located one block from Union Square and within easy walking distance of the Powell Street BART station. Our Lakeside Clubhouse sits next to the ocean on the border of San Francisco and Daly City. The Olympic Club offers free meals during work shifts, free golf on Mondays at our Lakeside campus and a variety of sport and social events for employees throughout the year. Benefits include: PTO, sick time, holidays, and uniforms. Our Utility Engineers are members of Local 39. Scheduling is by position seniority with shifts assigned based on operational needs. Candidates must have availability to work flexible schedules including day times, evenings, weekends and holidays. Essential functions and responsibilities: Under general supervision, Utility Worker provides support to Stationary Engineers and performs a variety of manual and general labor tasks in connection with general building and grounds maintenance, and performs other related duties as required.Performs general building maintenance under close supervisionPerforms grounds, maintenance, and minor repair workUnclogs toilets, kitchen and bathroom drainsReplaces and repairs door and window hardwareChanges HVAC filtersPerforms general labor work as assigned by the Stationary Engineers including loading, uploading, moving materials, and running errands for projectsReplaces light bulbs/lamps and cleans fixtures; changes ballastsResponds quickly to emergency situations and concernsPatches and paints walls as neededAssembles and disassembles furnitureSets up eventsComplies with all applicable codes, regulations, governmental agency, and company directives as related to building operations and practices safe work habitsAbility to lift a minimum of 50 pounds Candidate Requirements Include:High School graduation, State High School Proficiency Certificate, G.E.D. equivalent or trade school equivalent educationFluent English written and oral communicationMust have basic Microsoft Office knowledge and how to operate a computerAbility to follow oral and written directionsBe able to demonstrate mechanical abilityKeep accurate recordsMust possess a valid driver's licenseMay be required to work over-time, including weekends and holidays, and/or shift work, based on operational needs Non-essential Functions and responsibilities:Other reasonable, work-related duties as assigned by a manager.Attend pre-shift or other work-related meetings as scheduled. Qualifications Required: 1. One year of experience in the maintenance of buildings and grounds; OR 2. Six months experience as Utility Worker *Regular attendance required based on business expectations and needs. *Complies with all federal, state, and local employment laws, safety regulations and guidelines, Olympic Club bylaws and house rules, Club policies and procedures and Union contracts.
