Job description: Job Summary The Director of Environmental Services is responsible for overseeing the cleaning, sanitation, and maintenance operations within healthcare or commercial facilities. This leadership role ensures that all environmental services meet the highest standards of cleanliness, safety, and regulatory compliance. The manager will coordinate janitorial staff, develop cleaning protocols, and implement best practices to promote a safe and hygienic environment for patients, staff, and visitors. A strong understanding of OSHA regulations and environmental services best practices is essential to succeed in this role. Responsibilities Supervise and coordinate daily cleaning and sanitation activities across the facility, ensuring adherence to established standards. Develop and implement cleaning procedures aligned with OSHA guidelines, hospital standards, and regulatory requirements. Manage janitorial staff schedules, training, and performance evaluations to maintain a high level of service quality. Oversee floor care operations including stripping, waxing, buffing, and carpet cleaning to ensure a safe and presentable environment. Conduct regular inspections to assess cleanliness, safety hazards, and compliance with health regulations. Maintain inventory of cleaning supplies and equipment; order replacements as needed. Collaborate with hospital or facility management to address specific sanitation needs or special projects. Ensure all environmental services activities comply with safety protocols related to infection control and hazardous materials handling. Requirements Proven experience in environmental services, custodial work, or janitorial management within healthcare or commercial settings. Knowledge of OSHA regulations related to workplace safety and sanitation standards. Experience with hospital or healthcare facility cleaning protocols is highly desirable. Strong background in sanitation procedures, floor care techniques, and general custodial practices. Excellent leadership skills with the ability to manage teams effectively and foster a culture of safety and accountability. Ability to develop and implement effective cleaning programs that meet regulatory requirements. Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in inspection and quality assurance processes. Prior experience with commercial cleaning equipment and supplies management is preferred. Work Location: In person Pay: $55,000.00 - $57,000.00 per year Work Location: In person
