Part Time Receptionist / Switchboard Operator Tekberry is seeking a professional and reliable Receptionist / Switchboard Operator to support front office operations for our client, a global leader in aerospace and motion control technologies. This role is responsible for managing switchboard coverage, supporting office logistics, and ensuring a welcoming and organized workplace environment. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, dependable, and comfortable interacting with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders. This position is well-suited for a recent high school graduate or early-career professional seeking part-time corporate experience. Key Responsibilities Answer, screen, and transfer incoming calls efficiently and professionally Provide daily switchboard coverage (approximately 1 hour per day) Serve as backup for the main corporate receptionist during meal breaks and absences Maintain a professional front desk and lobby environment Distribute incoming mail, packages, and deliveries across the facility Maintain, order, and restock office and kitchen supplies Post updates and communications on bulletin boards and employee areas Support general office organization and daily operational needs Coordinate catering orders and communicate delivery details to employees Set up and break down conference rooms for meetings and events Assist with employee engagement activities and office events Respond to routine inquiries from employees and visitors Support visitor badging processes using iPad or similar systems Assist with phone system updates and other basic administrative tasks Handle sensitive information with discretion and maintain confidentiality Qualifications High School Diploma or GED (required) 1+ year of experience in a corporate or office environment preferred Strong verbal and written communication skills Professional demeanor with the ability to interact with diverse audiences, including senior leadership Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) Comfortable using web-based and desktop applications Strong organizational skills and attention to detail Ability to multitask and manage responsibilities independently Must be able to lift up to 25 lbs. Work Environment 100% onsite role based in Elma, NY Part-time afternoon schedule (12:00 PM 4:00 PM) Flexibility required to cover full-day or multi-day shifts during vacations or absences Office setting with a mix of front desk responsibilities and light physical tasks (mail, supplies, event setup) We need hard-working, reliable professionals who take pride in supporting office operations and delivering a high level of service.
