BBQ Pit Crew Member

Blu’s Barbeque is hiring motivated BBQ Pit Crew Members to join our team. This role is responsible for preparing high-quality smoked meats and assisting with kitchen operations while maintaining Blu’s high standards for food quality, cleanliness, and safety. No previous pitmaster experience is required. We will provide training for the right candidates who are eager to learn the craft of Texas barbecue. Members of the Pit Crew will help prepare meats, maintain smokers, organize workstations, and assist the kitchen team to ensure orders are completed accurately and efficiently. The ideal candidate enjoys working in a fast-paced environment and takes pride in producing great food. Responsibilities Prepare and assemble ingredients for menu items Cook and prepare high-quality meats following Blu’s recipes and standards Assist with smoker operation and basic meat preparation Ensure food portions and presentation meet company expectations Store food properly to prevent spoilage Maintain clean workstations, refrigerators, smokers, and storage areas Monitor inventory and communicate when supplies are low Ensure cooking utensils and equipment are cleaned before use Sanitize food preparation areas regularly Assist team members to ensure orders are completed in a timely manner Help resolve issues with orders when needed Follow all food safety and health regulations Requirements High school diploma or equivalent preferred Reliable transportation Ability to follow recipes and instructions Willingness to learn barbecue techniques and cooking methods Ability to work well as part of a team Ability to stand for extended periods Strong communication skills ServSafe certification is preferred but not required Blu’s Barbeque is looking for team members who take pride in their work, enjoy great food, and want to grow with a team that values quality Texas barbecue Pay: $17.00 - $19.00 per hour Benefits: Employee discount Flexible schedule Food provided Paid training Application Question(s): What days and times are you available to work?
