The Banquet Manager is responsible for overseeing all banquet functions, ensuring superior service standards, team leadership, operational efficiency, and financial performance. This exempt leadership role manages banquet staff, coordinates with Culinary and Catering teams, and ensures every event reflects our commitment to excellence. Operational Leadership Maintain complete knowledge of departmental policies, service procedures, and standards. Ensure superior service standards are upheld daily. Oversee event execution from set-up through breakdown. Review and organize Banquet Event Orders (B.E.O.'s); communicate updates and changes. Inspect function spaces for cleanliness, proper setup, and equipment readiness. Conduct pre-function meetings to review service details, VIPs, timing, and special requests. Direct service flow, monitor timing, and ensure seamless coordination with Culinary and Stewarding. Strictly adhere to state liquor laws, including regulations prohibiting service to minors or intoxicated persons. Guest Experience Greet and engage hosts and guests; ensure all arrangements meet expectations. Anticipate guest needs and promptly resolve concerns. Handle guest complaints professionally, ensuring complete satisfaction. Promote positive guest relations at all times. Team Leadership & Development Prepare weekly schedules aligned with labor forecasts and business levels. Ensure proper staffing and compliance with attendance standards. Conduct training programs for new hires and ongoing development for existing staff. Provide performance feedback and manage disciplinary matters when necessary. Foster a collaborative, professional work environment that supports morale and productivity. Financial & Administrative Oversight Track revenue against budget and review daily sales. Ensure compliance with cashiering and accounting procedures. Prepare payroll and tip distribution records accurately and timely. Establish par levels and requisition supplies as needed. Maintain accurate departmental documentation and logs. Requirements Minimum 21 years of age (required to serve alcoholic beverages). At least two (2) years of experience as a Banquet Manager, preferably in a luxury or ultra-luxury environment. Education High school diploma required. Technical Expertise Knowledge of multiple service styles (French, Russian, butler-style, tableside service). Expertise in room setup styles and banquet flow. Strong understanding of B.E.O.'s, staffing guidelines, and labor management. Familiarity with food & beverage cost controls and banquet sales tools. Working knowledge of POS systems and cashiering procedures. General Competencies Exceptional attention to detail, organization, and follow-through. Strong leadership and problem-solving skills. Ability to remain calm under pressure and resolve issues using sound judgment. Excellent communication skills in English (additional languages preferred). Ability to work cohesively with cross-functional teams. Physical Requirements Ability to lift and transport up to 30 pounds. Ability to stand, walk, reach, bend, and move throughout shift.
