Our projects range from millwork, architectural acoustic products, stones, metals, demountable partitions and a variety of growing products to help bring the interior finishes of a project to completion.THE WHO: P.O.I.N.T PERSONP - Problem SolverO - Open & HonestI - IntentionalN - iNnovativeT – TrustworthyTHE WORK: The Estimator reviews project documents, performs takeoffs, develops proposals, and manages vendor and subcontractor pricing to prepare accurate bids. This role collaborates with internal design, production, and project management teams to validate feasibility and ensures all estimates align with operational and financial goals.DETAILS OF THE JOBAt Numa, we expect every team member to have a developed understanding of our products and the ability to execute the following job responsibilities for each.Document Review & Takeoffs· Analyze architectural drawings, blueprints, project specifications, and project manuals to develop accurate pricing strategies.· Communicate with GC to clarify scope details and send Request For Information (RFI)· Perform accurate material and labor takeoffs using estimating software (Stack, Bluebeam, etc.)· Calculate costs for labor, fabrication, equipment, and subcontracted servicesEstimating & Proposal Development· Prepare detailed cost breakdowns, proposals, and qualification sheets· Set overhead/profit margins in coordination with sales and operations· Develop preliminary project schedules aligned with client requirements· Identify potential project risks, scope gaps, and cost-saving opportunities through value engineering· Lead scope reviews with GCVendor & Subcontractor Coordination· Solicit, review, and qualify subcontractor and vendor quotes· Confirm proposals cover the complete scope of work and meet project requirements· Maintain subcontractor/vendor relationships to ensure competitive pricing· Coordinate closely with NUMA’s vendor network to source scope-specific pricing and availability· Evaluate and vet new vendors to maintain high standards of quality, reliability, and pricing competitivenessCollaboration & Handoff· Work with sales to qualify bid opportunities and align margins with company goals· Provide clean handoffs to project management, including all drawings, scope notes, and estimate documentation· Support Project Managers with cost-related questions, contract negotiations, or change orders as neededCost Data & Continuous Improvement· Maintain and update cost databases with current pricing and historical job data· Track actual vs. estimated costs to improve accuracy and forecasting· Contribute to improving estimation processes and toolsAdditional Development Responsibilities· Attend lunch and learns and meetings alongside sales team to represent estimating team· Participate in annual growth plan creation and executionIdeal Qualifications:· 3–5+ years of estimating experience in architectural millwork, casework, or related construction trades· Strong knowledge of millwork materials (wood species, veneers, laminates, solid surfaces, hardware, finishes, etc.)· Familiarity with industry standards (AWI, ADA, fire codes)· Ability to read and interpret large commercial plan sets and technical specifications· Strong analytical, mathematical, and organizational skills· Excellent written and verbal communication skills for client, vendor, and team interaction· Ability to prioritize and manage multiple bids within deadlines· Proficiency with estimating software and tools (Bluebeam, Excel, Stack)THE WIN:· Scope: Bid packages delivered to precon without major revisions· Quantity takeoff accuracy ≥ stated company goal· Schedule: Estimated schedule is achievable by ops team· Pricing: Estimate accuracy across department within ±2% of awarded cost· Win Rate: Overall bid hit rate ≥ company target (e.g., 30%)· Sufficient quote coverage: ex.
