Print Operations Manager
Position OverviewWe are seeking a hands-on operations leader to oversee printing and die cutting production within a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This role is highly visible on the production floor and requires someone who leads from the front, supports supervisors and operators, drives accountability, and keeps operations running efficiently. The ideal candidate will be strong in people leadership, performance management, troubleshooting production issues, and continuous improvement.This is not a desk-heavy management role. Success in this position comes from being present on the floor, engaging the team, solving problems in real time, and improving safety, quality, and output.Key ResponsibilitiesOversee day-to-day sheet-fed offset printing operations producing packaging graphics for food packaging products.Lead die cutting operations and coordinate production flow across printing and finishing departments.Manage a workforce of approximately 45 employees across multiple shifts, including 8-hour and 12-hour schedules.Coach, develop, and hold team members accountable through clear expectations, performance feedback, and documentation when needed.Troubleshoot equipment, workflow, staffing, and production issues to minimize downtime and maintain schedule commitments.Drive labor and equipment efficiency through daily production review, staffing alignment, and cost control measures.Reduce waste and scrap through operator training, process discipline, preventative action, and root cause problem solving.Maintain raw material and inventory accuracy through audits, reporting reviews, and corrective adjustments.Lead continuous improvement initiatives using Lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, Kaizen, TPM, or similar methodologies.Promote a strong safety culture through floor presence, audits, housekeeping standards, and corrective actions.Improve product quality while meeting customer expectations, production goals, and cost targets.Partner with Plant Leadership and other departments to improve plant performance and team effectiveness.Qualifications10+ years of experience in printing, packaging, converting, die cutting, or related manufacturing environments.5+ years of leadership experience managing supervisors, leads, or production teams.Strong floor leadership style with the ability to motivate teams and address performance issues directly.Experience troubleshooting machinery, production bottlenecks, or operational inefficiencies.Knowledge of lean manufacturing, continuous improvement, and KPI-driven operations.Strong communication and documentation skills.Proficient with Microsoft Office and standard production reporting systems.Bachelor’s degree in Printing Management, Manufacturing, Engineering, or related field preferred.Work EnvironmentApproximately 50% of time spent on the production floor walking, coaching, and monitoring operations.Some travel may be required
