The basic function of the Maintenance Planner is to contribute to the effective planning and scheduling of maintenance activities within our organization using the JD Edwards CMMS software, managing PMs and work plans, working with contractors, ordering materials, and organizing schedules. This role will interact with the Maintenance Supervisor and other Maintenance team members, Operations Shift Supervisors, and Operators, and communicate with various plant stakeholders. A successful candidate will also be required to lead daily planning and scheduling meetings with Operations and establish close working relationships with the crafts. The Planner is an essential function in the Maintenance and Reliability workflow.Key Responsibilities:Providing necessary planning information that ensures safe and efficient execution of critical priority 1 and 2 jobs.The Planner works in the future, providing support to the Maintenance Supervisor who is responsible for the execution of break-in and emergency work.Participating in the management of notification and work order backlog by:Reviewing backlog and planning list for duplicates, completed work, or work that may be unnecessary or cannot be completed without an outage.Grouping notifications together that can be planned and worked as a single order that optimizes the utilization of resources.Ensuring plans are in place that meet the timing requirements of the process unitsChecking for understanding of scope through notification text and field walk-throughChanging notification(s) to orders which includesEnsuring that order type and maintenance activity types are accurately assigned to the orderUsing or creating task lists for repetitive jobsUsing or creating BOM's where appropriateBuilding or copying the job plan that clearly shows:The special instructions and required documentation, such as QA/QC needs, wiring schematics, etc.Required skill crafts and durationSpecialty tools and equipmentOptimal scheduling logic between operationsReservation or purchase order for necessary componentsParticipating in the bidding process and requisitioning for third-party servicesRouting high-cost orders through the Operations/Manufacturing Manager for verification that the work order provides appropriate return on investment relative to the current business environmentCreate the Weekly Schedule for Week+1 and a tentative Weekly Schedule for Week+2Facilitates a Weekly Pre-Scheduling Meeting with the Maintenance Supervisor to get the final proposed Schedule prior to the scheduling meetingFacilitates a Weekly Scheduling Meeting with Operations Shift Supervisors to confirm the proposed Weekly Schedule for Week+1Forwarding job packages to the Maintenance SupervisorSoliciting feedback on executed job plans and making any necessary changes to ensure planning and work efficiencies continue to improveWriting necessary change orders for third-party services upon job completionActing as back-up and support for the E&I PlannerWorking unit outages, turnarounds, special projects, sharing in non-normal worktime, as neededSupport site safety, environmental, and training initiativesSupport site safety, environmental, and training initiatives.Perform other duties as assigned by Management.AccountabilitiesThe following will be measured, and this position will be held accountable for:Planned vs Actual CostsTotal Number and Value of Returned PartsDeveloping and Maintaining a Library of Planned WorkUp to 12 Weeks of Planned BacklogWO Quality per the ACE StandardPlanning Safety into Each Work OrderRequired Knowledge, Abilities & Skills:Associate's degree or equivalent experience in a technical fieldMinimum of 3 years' experience in the chemical industry or other industrial manufacturingStrong mechanical aptitude and technical maintenance experience with the ability to understand blueprints and technical manualsAbility to gather and evaluate complicated informationAbility to work on several projects and issues simultaneouslyAbility to manage projects effectively and meet firm deadlinesStrong organization, planning, supervision, and collaboration skillsExperience with a CMMS system, along with Microsoft Office proficiencyValid Driver's License requiredWork Environment & Physical Demands:Physical ability to bend, kneel, and work around industrial chemical equipment, including climbing stairs, vertical ladders, as some work may require heights in excess of 100 feet, and on/off heavy equipment.Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions. A normal workplace will be an office environment.Some work may require heights in excess of 100 feet.Willingness to work around dust, chemicals, high pressure, high temperature, loud noises, and running equipment.Ability to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) in designated areas (FRC uniform, hard hat, safety glasses, gloves, steel-toed boots, and hearing protection) when in plant areas, in addition to a full-face respirator as necessary in emergencies.Must be able to lift as much as 50 lbs.Special Attention:
