Bookkeeper, Athletics (Internal)
Bookkeeper Reports To: Director, Athletic Program Dept/School: Athletic Department Exemption Status/Test: Non-Exempt Days: 226 Pay Grade: CT4 Primary Purpose: Under general supervision, perform bookkeeping and maintain department budget. Qualifications: Education/Certification: High school diploma or GED A minimum of two years college hours in accounting-related field, preferred Special Knowledge/Skills: Knowledge of bookkeeping principles and practices Ability to type 50-55 wpm Ability to use calculator (10-key by touch) Ability to use personal computer and software to develop spreadsheets and do word processing (Microsoft Office-Excel, Word and Power Point) and Google Workspace Knowledge of computerized accounting systems Ability to work with numbers in an accurate and rapid manner Knowledge of Federal and State Board of Education rules and regulations Proficient skills in keyboarding and file maintenance Ability to multitask Strong organizational skills Strong oral and written communication skills Experience: Two years accounting or bookkeeping experience, preferred Major Responsibilities and Duties: Record and maintain bookkeeping activities. Inventory requisition for correct totals and correct coding. Work closely with middle and high school coaches for all travel request. Process student/staff meal money request and settlements. Schedule workers for athletic events. Process invoices for payment and purchase orders; check accuracy and availability of funds on requisitions. Maintain vendor, budget code databases on all purchase orders. Record, store, and analyze information using accounting software. Screen and route telephone calls to appropriate staff. All incoming and outgoing correspondence for the Director. Maintain all department files. Maintain confidentiality. Perform other job related duties as assigned by the Director.
