Job DescriptionAs a Software Engineer I here at Honeywell, you will contribute to the design, development, and implementation of software solutions that support our aerospace technologies. You will be involved in coding, testing, and debugging software applications while collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality products.You will report directly to our Engineering Manager and you’ll work out of our Clearwater, FL location on a hybrid work schedule.In this role, you will impact the success of Honeywell Aerospace Technologies by developing innovative software that enhances aircraft systems, improves safety, and supports emerging aerospace technologies.At Honeywell, our people leaders play a critical role in developing and supporting our employees to help them perform at their best and drive change across the company. Help to build a strong, diverse team by recruiting talent, identifying, and developing successors, driving retention and engagement, and fostering an inclusive cultureResponsibilitiesKEY RESPONSIBILITIESDesign, code, test, integrate, qualify, and document test software for Clearwater Space products, including Inertial Navigation Units (INU’s) and Single Board Computers (SBC’s). Complete tasks under supervision of a test software technical lead. Learn and utilize the Aerospace Engineering Process (AEP) to develop high quality test software products on time and within budgeted hours. Interact with internal customers and team members and participate in peer reviews and major design reviews. Participate in Year-over-Year (YoY) improvement projects with other department team members.QualificationsYOU MUST HAVEBachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in a technical discipline such as science, technology, engineering, mathematicsUS citizenship with capability to acquire a Secret clearance due to contractual requirementsOne year of knowledge or internship in software development tools and version control systems using programming languages WE VALUEStrong understanding of programming languages such as Java, C++, or PythonFamiliarity with software development methodologies and best practicesKnowledge of software development lifecycle and testing methodologiesBachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering or Computer ScienceCumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher on a 4.0 scaleExperience with embedded systems or aerospace software developmentKnowledge of real-time operating systems and safety-critical software standardsAbility to work effectively in a team environment and adapt to fast-paced projectsPassion for innovation and continuous learningBenefits Of Working For HoneywellIn addition to a competitive salary, leading-edge work, and developing solutions side-by-side with dedicated experts in their fields, Honeywell employees are eligible for a comprehensive benefits package.
