Units include: a high security unit with 17 beds; a geropsych unit with a strong ECT program for both inpatient and outpatient treatment; and a 22 bed general psych unit which provides stabilization and treatment for patients who are appropriate for a locked, but less secure than the high security unit. Physicians work with an interdisciplinary treatment team for each patient. The behavioral health program staff works as a collaborative team. Psychiatrists, social workers, nurses, counselors and other disciplines work together to plan and deliver care to patients.There are opportunities for teaching residents and medical students from Upstate Medical University in Syracuse, as well as the ability to participate in clinical research.
