You’ll be part of a hands-on team that restores critical rotating equipment to peak performance.A day in the shopTear down, inspect, diagnose, and rebuild a wide range of pumps, compressors, and small turbines.Head into the field as needed to assess issues on-site and make timely repairs.Operate equipment including steam cleaner, sandblaster, bead blaster, cranes/hoists/come‑along, forklift, pullers/presses/rams, ovens/heaters, and impact tools.Perform maintenance welding.Step up as the lead in the supervisor’s absence and keep work moving safely and efficiently.Build strong working relationships across the team and with adjacent departments.What you’ll useGrinders, heating torches, burning torchDrill press, radial drill, balance machinePrecision measuring tools for close-tolerance workDie grinders for hand-fitting and rotor assemblyHow you workFollow written and verbal instructions, including manufacturer service specifications.Communicate clearly in writing and verbally to ensure safe, high-quality outcomes.Qualifications5+ years as a pump mechanic with shop repair experience, including assembly/disassembly of pumps, valves, and rotating equipment.Skilled in acetylene and electric arc welding.Proficient with power and hand tools and diagnostic equipment.Knowledge of methods, materials, tools, and techniques used in pump repair and maintenance.Millwright mechanic background or formal training from an accredited technical college/trade school, or an equivalent multiyear apprenticeship.Knowledge of working with electric motors.High school diploma required.Journeyman certification or US military experience desired.Two years’ experience in machining and tooling in a machine shop environment is desired.Physical demandsLift and handle objects up to 60 pounds.
