This leader will combine strong technical judgment, people leadership, and operational excellence to help build intelligent, AI-powered experiences that improve how construction professionals find work, make decisions, and deliver projects.You will lead a team of talented engineers, partner closely with Product Management, Design, Data Science, and Platform teams, and help shape the future of Autodesk's construction technology portfolio. This role is ideal for a leader who is energized by building high-performing teams, leveraging AI to solve customer problems, and delivering scalable cloud services used by customers worldwide.ResponsibilitiesLead, coach, and develop a high-performing team of software engineers in a hybrid and globally distributed environmentPartner closely with Product Managers, Designers, Architects, and stakeholders to deliver meaningful customer valueFoster a culture of inclusion, innovation, accountability, and continuous learning aligned with Autodesk valuesHelp engineers understand how their work connects to customer outcomes and broader business goalsProvide technical guidance and mentorship while empowering engineers to own solutions and decisionsDrive engineering excellence through strong practices in architecture, code quality, testing, security, and operational reliabilityImprove team effectiveness by identifying opportunities to streamline processes, increase productivity, and reduce frictionSupport the growth of engineers through coaching, career development, and continuous feedbackRecruit, hire, and retain exceptional talent while building a diverse and engaged teamGuide the team through ambiguity, helping prioritize effectively and adapt to changing business needsPartner with teams across Autodesk to manage dependencies, align priorities, and share best practicesChampion the team's accomplishments, advocate for its needs, and represent its interests across the organizationLead planning and execution across multiple initiatives, balancing near-term delivery with long-term technical investmentsPromote the thoughtful adoption of AI technologies and AI-assisted development practices to improve customer experiences and engineering productivitySupport operational excellence by helping the team effectively manage production issues, reliability, and customer-impacting incidentsMinimum QualificationsBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience8+ years of software engineering experience, including experience building and operating cloud-native applications3+ years of engineering leadership experience leading software development teamsStrong understanding of modern software development practices and the software development lifecycleExperience leading teams responsible for customer-facing web applications and cloud servicesDemonstrated ability to influence technical direction while enabling teams to execute effectivelyStrong communication skills with the ability to engage both technical and non-technical audiencesExperience working successfully with distributed and hybrid teamsProven ability to navigate ambiguity, prioritize effectively, and drive resultsStrong problem-solving, debugging, and analytical skillsPreferred QualificationsExperience building SaaS products on public cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google CloudStrong background in modern web development using technologies such as React, Node.js, TypeScript, or similar frameworksExperience building or integrating AI-powered capabilities, including generative AI, machine learning, intelligent automation, or AI-assisted development toolsExperience using data, experimentation, and customer insights to inform product and engineering decisionsKnowledge of distributed systems, microservices architectures, and event-driven platformsExperience managing customer incidents and driving operational excellenceFamiliarity with construction, preconstruction, or AEC industry workflowsExperience leading teams through growth, transformation, or modernization initiativesLearn MoreAbout AutodeskWelcome to Autodesk! For U.S.-based roles, we expect a starting base salary between $148,000 and $264,990. Offers are based on the candidate’s experience and geographic location, and may exceed this range.
