Service Technician

Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented RV Service Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge and experience in diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining recreational vehicles (RVs). This role requires excellent technical skills, problem-solving abilities, and a commitment to delivering high-quality service to our customers. Key Responsibilities: Inspection and Diagnosis: Perform thorough inspections of RVs to identify issues, malfunctions, and potential problems. Use diagnostic tools and techniques to determine the root cause of problems. Repair and Maintenance: Conduct repairs and routine maintenance on RV systems, including electrical, plumbing, HVAC, appliances, and structural components. Ensure all repairs meet safety and quality standards. Installation: Install new equipment, accessories, and upgrades as requested by customers. This may include awnings, satellite systems, solar panels, and other RV enhancements. Customer Service: Communicate effectively with customers to explain diagnosis, necessary repairs, and maintenance procedures. Provide accurate cost estimates and timelines for service completion. Documentation: Maintain detailed records of all services performed, parts used, and labor hours. Complete work orders, service reports, and other required documentation accurately and promptly. Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety regulations and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment. Use personal protective equipment (PPE) as required and follow proper procedures for handling hazardous materials. Tool and Equipment Maintenance: Keep all tools and equipment in good working condition. Report any equipment malfunctions or safety concerns to the Service Manager. Qualifications: Education: High school diploma or equivalent. Technical or vocational training in RV repair, automotive repair, or a related field is preferred. Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience as an RV Service Technician or in a similar role. Experience with various RV makes and models is highly desirable. Certifications: RVIA/RVDA certification or equivalent is preferred but not required. Skills: Strong mechanical and technical skills. Proficiency in using diagnostic tools and equipment. Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and diagrams. Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities. Strong communication and customer service skills. Attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship. Physical Requirements: Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds. Ability to work in various positions, including standing, bending, and kneeling, for extended periods. Ability to work in both indoor and outdoor environments, with exposure to various weather conditions.
