Automotive Mechanic I

Job Title Duties & ResponsibilitiesWorks safely and adheres to all company guidelines, policies, and proceduresMaintains all company provided tools and equipment (cell phone, vehicle, computer, etc.)Diagnoses and repairs a wide variety of mechanical problemsPerforming the maintenance, repair, and inspection of all types of vehicles (including diesel)Demonstrates efficient computer skills; data entry into various electronic databasesDetermines the type of repair required and makes the repair; checks warranty recordsDiagnoses and determines the appropriate repair for steering and suspension systemsPerforms services, inspects and repairs tires, wheel and brake systems; removes and replaces a variety of automotive componentsAttends courses to keep abreast of technical changes and to learn to use new computerized equipmentConducts regulatory (state, federal, and local) testing and reporting as directed by ForemanPerforms maintenance to light duty and to heavy equipment machineryPerforms all maintenance operations in accordance with technical specifications and safety regulationsSchedules maintenance for all vehicles and equipment, and keeps all service records up to dateCreates work orders on repairs and services providing legible and accurate informationInputs daily repair information in maintenance databasePerforms other various tasks as assigned by the ForemanSkills & SpecificationsAbility to work with a diverse team to achieve safety and production goalsHas integrity, communicates effectively, and maintains a positive attitudeStrong work ethicWorking knowledge of the techniques and procedures to diagnose mechanical and operating problems in automotive equipmentWorking knowledge of the methods, tools, equipment, and parts used in repairing automotive equipmentComfortable working in a fast-paced, high-pressure production environmentHas proficient computer skills with various electronic databasesMaintains good housekeeping in all areas of responsibilityDemonstrates mechanical knowledge of all aspects of industry craftEducation & QualificationsPossess a valid driver's license, CDL a plus (may be required in some locations)Legally authorized to work in the United StatesAble to pass a pre-employment drug and background checkMust possess a high school diploma or GED equivalent from an accredited, state-certified programCertifications from trade schools and/or professional organizations are preferredMust be capable and willing to work overtime as required and participate in an on-call rotation if neededCapable of lifting/carrying/pushing/pulling up to 50lbsCapable of rigorous outdoor activities and have manual dexterity with physical ability to work extended hours, climbing, bending, kneeling, squatting, working with arms extended above the head, twisting upper body, standing for long periods, exposure to extreme weather conditions, driving a vehicle, operation of forklifts and light industrial equipment if needed
