Location: Remote Full-Time | Permanent Job Overview We are seeking an experienced and results-driven Senior Project Manager to lead the planning, execution, and delivery of complex electrical, automation, and controls projects across industrial and material handling environments. This is a hands-on leadership role requiring technical depth, commercial awareness, and the ability to manage cross-functional teams, subcontractors, budgets, and client relationships from award through to close-out. The right candidate will bring proven experience managing large-scale material handling, conveyor, or industrial automation projects and ideally in a project-based engineering services environment. You understand the pace, complexity, and client expectations that come with this type of work, and you know how to keep projects on track when things get complicated. Key Responsibilities Lead and manage the full lifecycle of electrical, automation, and controls projects from award and planning through procurement, execution, commissioning, and close-out. Manage full project financials including budget tracking, cost-to-complete forecasting, purchase order management, margin analysis, identifying cost risks early, and implementing corrective measures to protect project profitability. Coordinate scope, resources, timelines, and budgets across all project phases in alignment with client requirements and CCA's internal standards. Serve as the primary client point of contact throughout delivery, managing expectations, communicating proactively, and resolving issues before they escalate. Act as the central coordination point between Engineering, Controls, Electrical Design, Procurement, and Field Operations ensuring alignment on scope, schedule, and deliverables, and that handoffs between departments are seamless and well-documented. Manage and coordinate subcontractors and vendors from procurement and scope definition through to on-site performance management. Manage change orders, RFIs, project documentation, and reporting to senior leadership. Identify and mitigate project risks, scope gaps, and schedule threats and implement corrective actions quickly when issues arise. Enforce adherence to project safety programs, quality control standards, and compliance with NEC, CEC, and applicable industry standards, including customer site H&S requirements. Conduct lessons learned and project close-out reviews to drive continuous improvement across the team. Qualifications Material Handling Experience: Demonstrated experience managing projects in material handling, conveyor automation, sortation, distribution centre automation, or similar industrial automation environments Experience: 7+ years of project management experience in electrical, controls, automation, or industrial systems, with a significant portion in the material handling or industrial automation sector Technical Knowledge: Strong working knowledge of electrical systems, PLCs, HMIs, SCADA, instrumentation, and control panels, sufficient to review drawings, challenge scope, and hold technical conversations with engineers and clients Codes & Standards: Familiarity with NEC, CEC, and applicable industrial electrical and safety standards Commercial Acumen: Proven track record managing multi-million-dollar project budgets, change orders, and contracts in a project-based engineering services environment Tools: Proficient with project management software (MS Project, Procore, Spectrum, or equivalent) and Microsoft Office Communication: Exceptional organizational, communication, and client-facing skills, you're equally comfortable presenting to an executive and walking a job site.
