This role performs field engineering and utilizes engineering standards to provide designs for customers. May coordinate, track and monitor the electrical requirements of projects to meet customer need dates.This position may be filled as a W2 employee or a contractor, depending on the company's needs and the candidate's experience.Key ResponsibilitiesDevelops designs, construction drawings, and list of materials for projects involving the installation/removal/modification of overhead and underground electrical utility infrastructure focusing on distribution, and transmissionUnderstands how to apply engineering standards to designsMay interact with customers to evaluate their needs for service. These tasks may include the scheduling, engineering, and construction of customer projects connecting to the gridImproves efficiency of the Design department's processesQualificationsUndergraduate degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical field2+ years of utility design experience (ComEd preferred)Knowledge of utility engineering standards and industry codesProficient in drafting, GIS, and pole loading softwareValid driver's license and ability to travel to project sites as requiredCaliber will consider alternative related education and/or work experience for this role on a case-by-case basis.Preferred ExperiencePrevious design experience for Exelon UtilitiesProficient in drafting, GIS, and pole loading softwareF.E., P.E., or other certificationsEstimated Overall Compensation:$103,000 - $165,000
