The Material Handler is reponsible for moving raw materials, finished goods, scrap materials, equipment and any other miscellaneous materials within the plant.SHIFT: Looking to fill 2nd: 7:00pm - 7:00am. Includes weekends.Primary ResponsibilitiesFollows schedule / instructions for materials to be moved, where to move and how oftenOperates a powered industrial fork truck and other material handling equipmentSecures proper lifting attachments to fork truck to move materials properly and safelyOperates industrial truck or electric hoist to assist in loading or moving materials and productsDrives company box truck between warehouse storage areasLoads and unloads materials on pallets in and out of warehouse racks in a safe mannerOrganizes and stores materials in an efficient manner attaching identifying labels to materialsRecords all materials moved and shipments into Syteline/WMS using a barcode scannerEnsures production demands are met and inventory accuracy is intact;Assists Shipping/Receiving department in loading and unloading trucksParticipates and supports Warehouse 5S and PPI initiatives and/or programsMaintains clean and organized work areas and vehicles; completes 5S and/or Housekeeping daily shift checklists; participates 100% in maintaining physical inventory countOther duties as assignedRequiredQualifications: Ability to read and interpret documents and follow instructions; follows daily, weekly, and monthly schedules to plan work priorities; maintains a good driving record; work independently with little supervision; ability to work overtime if required to meet business demands.Ability to use a computer; (e.g. Word, Excel, Internet and manufacturing software); ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide using whole numbersAbility to communicate effectively with workers and supervisorAbility to apply common sense understanding to carry out complex multiple step instructionsAbility to deal with problems and non-standardized situations with multiple variablesPrior experience operating powered industrial FL trucks, electric pallet jacks, hoists, Hi-Los, and/or other industrial lift and moving equipment requiredHigh School Diploma or GED requiredPreferredValid driver’s license and a good driving record preferredPrior FL Truck Driving Experience PreferredPrior warehouse experience preferedPhysical DemandsWhile performing the duties of this job the employee must: Be able to lift or move up to 50 pounds; Regularly required to use hands and stand for longs periods of time.What We OfferAt Mativ, our benefits reflect how much we value and care for each other.
