Because of their recession-proof product line, you will sleep better at night knowing that your position and your company are stable While other employers are cutting back, this employer is making million dollar investments to their plant Bring your expertise to this "flagship" plant where you will have the opportunity to make an immediate impact by standardizing and improving processes Being close to corporate will be an advantage for you and offer you high-profile exposure and future growth potential Report to a plant manager who has been with the company for 14 years, including working at corporate levels Fast-paced, publicly traded manufacturer is seeking a Manufacturing Controller to be responsible for the financial integrity of the site, represent the site as the subject matter expert who can educate team members on financial goals and results. The Manufacturing Controller will directly report to the plant manager, who has been with the company for 14 years, and will oversee a staff of four accounting professionals. Daily you will be responsible for the following tasks: Motivating, coaching and developing your accounting team Assessing the current plant accounting and finance processes and establishing a plan for standardization and improvement Championing the month-end, quarter-end and year-end closing, including being hands on with reconciliation, analysis and reporting Educating cost center managers on budget and finance best practices to ensure that plant KPIs are met Completing budget analysis, including gathering needed budget information and educating team members on budget goals and status Representing as the expert related to structuring of cost Completing all bank reconciliation, including cash management and forecasting, as well as communicating with banks Tracking operations CI activity and monitoring cost savings Maintaining all files and systematic data Participating in daily plant walk throughs to learn more about operations with the goal of gaining rapport with operations team members Partnering with the site plant manager as his "right hand" person for plant finance and accounting matters Supplying all needed accounting and financial reporting to the leadership team Other duties as directed by management Candidates should enjoy working in a team environment, communicating with other departments and supporting production in order to meet the company's accounting and finance goals. Individuals should enjoy spending 10-15% of their time on the manufacturing floor. This is a high-profile position. REQUIREMENTS for the Manufacturing Controller: Bachelor's Degree, ideally in accounting or finance At least five years of similar manufacturing controller experience Experience overseeing others Experience working with and optimizing ERP systems Working knowledge of manufacturing cost accounting processes Experience overseeing month-end and year-end closing Experience leading plant budgeting and forecasting A strong background with financial analysis, including investigating variances Microsoft Office, specifically strong MS Excel Skills preferred but NOT required: Experience working for publicly traded companies Consumer products experience SAP experience
